Theresa is an astrophysicist working for the European Space Agency. She approached me to develop her scientist portfolio. To add an artistic touch to her site we partnered with Kerstin Bogensberger who did the cover art. The main purpose of the site is to make her scientific work accessible to anyone, showcase her running project Ariel and her CV.
Logo done by Nathanael Design. To translate science and the take on her site as a portfolio we went with a super simple logo in black and white representing her initials.
Black and white are the base colours, a dark background filled with white objects representing night sky. The cover art adds a an orange tone to match her portrait and blue as a contrast. The cover art takes inspiration of sci-fi art like star trek.
Dune Rise in orange serves as an artistic headline and highlight typeface well suited for the so pace theme. Josefin Sans complements in the hero section. Montserrat is used for longer text to improve web readability and communicate a modern style.
